30-Day Cold Shower
Thirty days. Every shower ends cold. The handle does not creep back.
The rule fits in one sentence: for 30 days, every shower ends with at least 30 seconds of fully cold water. Not lukewarm, not "pretty cold." Cold.
Nobody does this because it is pleasant. People do it because it is a daily, unfakeable rep of doing the uncomfortable thing on purpose. Day 1 you will gasp like a cartoon. By day 20 it is just something you do, and that shift is the entire point.
The rules
- Every shower ends with at least 30 seconds of full cold.
- No easing the handle back toward warm during the 30 seconds.
- Feeling brave? Work up to entirely cold showers. The 30-second finish is the floor, not the ceiling.
- One check-in per day on the board once you have done it.
If you have a heart condition or any medical reason to avoid cold exposure, ask a doctor first. This is a discipline challenge, not a treatment for anything.
Why do it with a group
Cold showers are the easiest challenge in the world to quietly quit, because nobody can tell. The water leaves no evidence. A shared board fixes that: every day, your square is either filled or it is not, and your group sees which.
It is also the perfect first group challenge. Thirty days, zero equipment, zero schedule conflicts, and everyone suffers equally. Losers buy coffee.
Run 30-Day Cold Shower on the board
Create the challenge in about a minute, start solo or invite your group with a link, and check in once a day. Everyone sees who showed up. No chat, no push notifications, no confetti.

Fair questions
Does the cold part have to be at the end?
Ending cold is the convention because starting cold is easy to cheat: you just get out. Warm shower, then cold finish, then you step out cold. That order is the challenge.
What if I skip a shower day entirely?
A day without a shower is a day without a check-in. Most groups play it straight: no shower, no square. Decide before Day 1 and write it in the challenge description.
Do the benefits live up to the hype?
The internet promises everything from focus to fat loss. Be skeptical. What you can count on: you did a hard thing every day for a month, and that habit generalizes.
